Billionaire businessman Obi Cubana has once again shown that he knows how to turn a difficult moment into something beautiful.

The businessman surprised veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie with a brand-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 after the actress became the subject of online ridicule over the old phone she was using.
Obi Cubana shared the touching moment on his Instagram page on Thursday, September 3, and, as expected from a man who loves to make his gestures feel personal, he posted the video uncut, unedited and without background music.
In the video, Rita Edochie could be seen receiving the expensive smartphone with excitement as Obi Cubana congratulated her on becoming one of the first people to own the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.
“Had to post this one uncut, unedited, no music! Gratitude is a virtue. Our legendary Rita Edochie, congratulations on being one of the first owners of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8! U deserve it and more,” Obi Cubana wrote.
The veteran actress was visibly happy about the surprise and expressed her appreciation to the businessman for the thoughtful gift.
But Obi Cubana wasn’t done there.
While presenting the phone to Rita, the billionaire also appeared to send a message to the people who had mocked the actress online because of her old device.
He questioned how such people could sleep peacefully after ridiculing someone over something as ordinary as a phone. He also asked what they would say when they eventually have to give an account of their actions before their Creator.
And if you’ve been following Obi Cubana for a while, this latest gesture shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.
The businessman has built a reputation for publicly supporting and rewarding people around him.
He previously gifted Pastor Jerry Eze a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip, while in 2024, he presented blogger Tunde Ednut with two Samsung Android phones reportedly worth over N3 million each on his birthday.
His generosity has also gone beyond expensive gadgets. Obi Cubana has reportedly gifted 20 of his former classmates N2 million each and offered a scholarship to viral pure water hawker Ekuma Jeremiah.
For Rita Edochie, however, this latest gesture goes beyond the phone itself. It came at a time when she was being laughed at online, and Obi Cubana chose to respond with kindness instead.
Sometimes, you don’t need to argue with people on the internet. Just put a smile on someone’s face and let the gesture speak for itself.
