Months after the death of popular Nigerian influencer and businessman Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, popularly known as Ego, details surrounding what allegedly led to his sudden death have emerged.
Ego, who was 43 at the time of his death, was reportedly a close friend and associate of Afrobeats superstar Davido. He was also known online for his lavish lifestyle, expensive taste and the kind of luxury-filled life he regularly shared with his followers.
His death in Thailand reportedly came as a shock to people close to him, especially because he had travelled to the country with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, for what was supposed to be a luxury getaway.

According to reports from an inquest held in the United Kingdom, Ego allegedly underwent a cosmetic penis enlargement procedure at an unnamed clinic in Thailand in March 2026.
The procedure reportedly involved the injection of about 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine.
What was supposed to be a cosmetic procedure reportedly turned into a tragedy just days later.
Ego reportedly complained of chest pain
After the procedure, Ego was reportedly staying at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok with his wife when he began experiencing chest pain.
Reports claim that the 43-year-old subsequently collapsed and lost consciousness, reportedly passing out twice.
His wife allegedly informed medical personnel that he had recently undergone the cosmetic procedure, information that reportedly became important as doctors tried to determine what was happening to him.
A CT scan was reportedly recommended, but Ego allegedly lost consciousness before the examination could be completed.
Doctors reportedly later determined that he had suffered a pulmonary embolism, a serious condition involving a blockage in a blood vessel in the lungs.
Medical personnel reportedly performed CPR for more than 100 minutes in an attempt to save his life.
Sadly, Ego reportedly died in the early hours of March 6, 2026.
Postmortem reportedly linked the substance to his lungs
The circumstances surrounding his death became even more disturbing following a postmortem examination conducted in the United Kingdom.
According to reports presented during the inquest, cellular material found in Ego’s lungs allegedly matched the hyaluronic acid that had been used during the cosmetic procedure.
Following the evidence presented, Coroner Jean Harkin reportedly ruled that Ego died from a pulmonary embolism caused by complications from the cosmetic procedure.
The revelation has understandably raised questions about the risks associated with cosmetic procedures, particularly procedures involving injections.
A lavish final farewell
For those who followed Ego on social media, his extravagant lifestyle was hardly a secret.
He reportedly enjoyed showcasing luxury cars, designer items, expensive trips and other symbols of wealth online. In death, his final farewell was also reportedly as extravagant as the lifestyle he had displayed while alive.
Ego was reportedly buried in London in a gold coffin said to have cost more than $745,000.
The funeral attracted several familiar faces from Nigeria’s entertainment and social scene.
Davido, who was reportedly close to Ego, was among those who mourned him.

Speaking at the funeral, the music star reportedly described the situation as something that “doesn’t feel real,” while also calling Ego’s death heavy.
Another prominent figure, socialite Cubana Chief Priest, also paid tribute to Ego and shared footage from the funeral.
In his tribute, he reportedly wrote:
“Rest Easy Brother @ego2222. Even In Death, The Lifestyle Was Kept 700 For You. Today London Stood Still For You Tiny, We Love You, We Celebrate You and We Will Never Forget You Brother, We Lived Bro, Good Memories Na Water. RIP Big Tiny Please Watch Over Us #30BillionGeng.”
A shocking revelation months later
For many people who knew Ego or followed him online, the latest details surrounding his death are particularly heartbreaking.
What reportedly began as a luxury holiday with his wife in Thailand allegedly ended with a medical emergency that ultimately claimed his life.
While cosmetic procedures have become increasingly common, Ego’s case has once again sparked conversations about the potential dangers and complications that can arise from medical and cosmetic treatments.
At the moment, the reports surrounding his death stem from evidence presented during the UK inquest and the postmortem findings reportedly discussed there.
Ego was only 43.
And judging by the tributes from those who knew him, his passing left a hole among the people who considered him a friend and brother.
May his soul rest in peace.
