For Young Chila, music was not exactly something he planned to pursue from the beginning. According to the rapper, it was something that kept finding its way back to him.

He started his music journey around 2018. The more he tried to take his mind away from music at the time, the more the idea kept coming back to him.

In his own words, “Music chose me.”

That belief has kept him going through the ups and downs that come with being an independent artist.

Young Chila is a hip-hop rapper who believes his sound has its own identity. While he has several unpromoted songs in his catalogue, he considers “Champagne,” produced by Tec Production, his first legitimate release and an important step in his journey as an artist.

Since then, he has released songs including “Champagne,” “Put a Smile” featuring xxmoni, and “Jaye.” He has also worked with artists such as xxmoni, Pitar Pyper and Young Ice, alongside other upcoming talents.

Although he is yet to collaborate with a major mainstream artist or receive a major award, Young Chila has already had opportunities to perform at different locations. His movement between Benue and the southern part of Nigeria has also exposed him to different environments and audiences. On some occasions, he has been paid for his performances, giving him more reasons to keep believing in what he is doing.

But despite the performances and songs released, Young Chila is not pretending that he has already made it.

There has been no major breakthrough yet.

He is still working to get his name and music out there, and sponsorship remains one of the biggest challenges he currently faces. Still, he chooses to appreciate every moment of the journey rather than allow the difficulties to stop him.

For him, faith, courage and his personal style are some of the things that set him apart.

“It has not been easy, but I still enjoy every moment out there as an artist,” he says.

And quitting is not part of his plans.

Young Chila believes God has been faithful to him throughout the journey, and that belief continues to give him the strength to push forward. He is confident that his persistence will eventually pay off.

The rapper is also preparing for what could be another important chapter in his career. He currently has two new songs in the works: “Street Cartels” and “TIMBA.” According to him, both songs are expected to be released before December 15, 2026.

For an artist who is still fighting to establish his name, these upcoming releases represent more than just new music. They are another opportunity for Young Chila to introduce his sound to a wider audience and show people what he has been working on.

His ultimate goal is straightforward: to become known by people far beyond his immediate environment.

The response he has received from some of his fans has also given him confidence that there is room for growth. He believes that with consistency, support and the right opportunities, he can take his music career to a much bigger level in the coming years.

Young Chila may not have the biggest name in Nigerian music yet, and he openly admits that he is still struggling to get noticed. But that is exactly what makes his story interesting.

He is an independent rapper from Benue, still building from the ground up, releasing music, performing wherever opportunities come, working with other upcoming artists and hoping that the right opportunity will eventually open the door.

For now, he is simply staying on the grind.

Because if music really chose him, then Young Chila believes he has no reason to abandon it.
